India’s Gainwell Engineering, already a part of Caterpillar’s dealer network, has signed a technology licensing agreement with Caterpillar allowing it to manufacture medium- and high-seam room and pillar to support demand domestically and beyond. Under the agreement’s terms, Gainwell will also supply aftermarket spare parts and offer service support to existing Cat R&P and highwall miner products. Gainwell, headquartered in Kolkata, will be establishing a plant on 35 acres in Panagarh, West Bengal, to back its new capabilities.
