Lintec & Linnhoff and Gainwell sign new manufacturing partnership to Make in India
Gainwell Commosales Private Limited (formerly Tractors India Private Limited) and Lintec & Linnhoff Holdings (LLH) have signed a strategic manufacturing and distribution partnership agreement to cement an even stronger presence in the thriving South Asian market today.
Gainwell Engineering Pvt Ltd, Gainwell’s manufacturing arm, will be in charge of the licenced production of Linnhoff asphalt plants and Eurotec concrete plants. Linnhoff asphalt and Eurotec concrete plants will be distributed and serviced by Gainwell in India, Nepal, and Bhutan. This will be backed up with end-to-end customer and technical support, including after-sales service, plant retrofit and refurbishment, and spare parts and component supply.
Gainwell, a leading player in the construction, mining, energy, and transportation sectors, and LLH, a global leader in asphalt and concrete batching plants, will collaborate to create synergies. These two legacy organisations have a long history of assisting in nation-building through powerful and innovative infrastructure solutions.
The partnership with Gainwell seeks to leverage the success its brands have enjoyed over the past three decades, reaffirming LLH’s commitment to the Indian market, where over 500 of its plants have already been sold. The new partnership will result in a stronger brand and product offering to cater to a wide range of project requirements. Standard plants will be available, as well as more complex or customised solutions tailored to the domestic market. Gainwell and LLH will work together to attract new customers while improving service to existing ones.
“We also plan to use India-based licenced manufacturing to support some of our regional customers in the long run, so finding a partner with a similar business ethos, as well as the capability and resources to meet our high manufacturing and distribution standards, was a critical part of the selection process.”
Gainwell has been providing exceptional value through integrated solutions and exceptional service since 1944. Gainwell has established capabilities in the areas of product support and project execution to emerge as a technology-driven world-class solutions provider to customers in the infrastructure, mining, energy, and transportation segments, thanks to its unwavering focus on serving customers. For the global underground mining customer base in India, Australia, Singapore, and the United States, Gainwell Engineering represents the best in engineering design, manufacturing, marketing, and maintaining equipment.
“Our efforts to expand ‘Solutions for Growth’ reaffirm our commitment to providing exceptional customer service and value to all of our stakeholders.” We put a premium on integrating technology into the entire customer life cycle to provide solutions at every stage. We will leave a deep footprint of world-class service on this business as well, leveraging automation, cloud, AI, analytics, and service technology models.”
The huge potential for growth is evident, with the Union Budget of 2021-2022 allocating INR 108,230 crore (US$14.85 billion) to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways alone, and a likely US$350 billion investment in road infrastructure in the northeast of the country between 2020 and 2025.
The government has long prioritised the expansion and modernisation of India’s National Highways, which account for only 2% of the country’s 6.2 million km of road network but carry over 40% of all traffic. As a result, following a 50 percent increase over the previous seven years, an additional 25,000 kilometres are planned for FY2022-2023, with a goal of adding 100 kilometres per day – more than tripling the average daily distance achieved during FY2020-2021.
“We are ideally placed to create unique machines that are perfectly suited to the needs of customers in India and the surrounding region by combining our world-leading German engineering know-how, quality, and reliability with local manufacture and expertise,” Daniel Chan concluded. “We are confident that this strategic collaboration is just the beginning of a long-term partnership that will provide India with robust, reliable, and premium asphalt and concrete mixing plants for many years to come.”
